Coriander-Spiced Moong Dal

Ingredients
- 200 g yellow moong dal, rinsed
- 750 ml water
- 120 g tomato, chopped
- 5 g salt, or to taste
- 15 g ghee or oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 garlic cloves, sliced
- 1 dried red chilli (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
- 2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1Pressure-cook the dal with water, tomato, turmeric and salt until soft.
- 1Whisk lightly and adjust the consistency with hot water.
- 2Stir in Coriander Powder and simmer for four minutes.
- 3Heat ghee or oil, add cumin, garlic and optional dried chilli, and cook until aromatic.
- 4Pour the tempering over the dal, simmer for one minute and garnish with coriander.
